Happy Fall!

Hey Crafty Friends! Hope you have all had a wonderful week! I'm back today to share another fall card with you that I created using lots of Lawn Fawn goodies. I'm telling you, I really can't get enough of all of their wonderful crafty goodness! Everything they have is just so adorable!

For my card today, I used the Jump for Joy stamps and dies, So Owlsome stamps and dies, Happy Fall Line Border die, and Leafy Tree Backdrop die.

I started working on my background first. Here lately I've really been loving ink blending. So that's what I decided to go with for my background on this card. I blended Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, and Fired Brick Distress Oxide inks. I started with the lightest at the top and blended into the darkest at the bottom. I wanted it to look like a sky at sunset. After I inked it, I sprayed it with water from a distress sprayer and then blotted it dry with a paper towel. 

Next I started working on my scene. I die cut the Leafy Tree Backdrop from white cardstock. I added color to it with Walnut Stain Distress Oxide ink and an ink blending tool. Then I set that aside to give it time to dry completely. While I waited for it to dry, I die cut the Happy Fall Line Border out of some white cardstock. I inked it using Fired Brick Distress Oxide ink. 

Then I stamped the images that I planned on using onto some white cardstock using Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. It's a great, crisp black ink that works wonderfully with Copic markers. I used stamps from the Jump for Joy and So Owlsome set. Then I colored them using the following Copic markers: 

Owls: R39, R37, W7, YR18, YR27, YR24, YR23, G21, G24, E25, E21

Acorns: E55, E57

Apples: R24, R27, G07

Rake: E57, E55, W4, W2

Leaves: G43, G24, YR68, Y19, R29, R39, YR31, Y17

After I had colored everything, I cut the images out using the coordinating dies. 

Now all that was left was just the assembly of all of these awesome elements. I adhered the Happy Fall line border to my background panel first. Then layered the Leafy Tree Backdrop. Lastly, I just arranged my images where I thought they looked best. I added some of the leaves to the tree and onto the background to make it look as though they were falling off the tree. Once they were all adhered, the card was complete!

Fall Leaves Spinner Card

Good morning friends! Hope you are all doing great! I have a new fall themed card to share with you all today. This year, I'm quite excited about fall. I haven't gotten out the decorations yet, but I am very happy it's finally gotten here. To me, there's nothing quite like this time of year. The deep, rich, warm, cozy colors of fall are some of God's most beautiful masterpieces. And His gentle reminder that sometimes change is quite beautiful is just what my heart needs. I have many great fall card ideas to share with you in the days to come. =)

For this great fall card, I used some Lawn Fawn things that I have in my collection. To start this card, I looked through my Distress inks and picked out some that I thought were classic fall colors. I wanted to ink the whole entire background panel for the card using all the colors of fall and have them transition from one color to the next. So I inked a 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" panel of white cardstock using Peeled Paint, Fired Brick, Fossilized Amber, and Carved Pumpkin Distress inks. Some of these colors I had, but had never used. I found several new favorites! 

After I had inked my background, I worked on the spinner portion of the card. I started by die cutting 2 of the large panels from the Reveal Wheel die set from kraft cardstock. The oval shaped window that I used for the top panel comes from the new Reveal Wheel Square Add-On. I also cut out the tiny arrow in the Reveal Wheel set from kraft cardstock as well. The two circles for the inside of the spinner I just cut from white cardstock. Also, from white cardstock I cut out the scalloped frame for the oval window from the Reveal Wheel Square Add-On die set. 

I embossed a sentiment at the top center of the panel using Versamark ink and Ranger white embossing powder. Before I stamped, I used an anti-static powder bag over the area of the paper that I was going to be embossing. The sentiment that I used came from the Reveal Wheel Holiday Sentiments. There are many choices of great adjectives to use to fill in the window for the rest of the sentiment. For my card, I used a combination of words from Reveal Wheel Sentiments and Reveal Wheel Holiday Sentiments. The adjectives I used were: magical, cozy, fun, and sweet. I stamped them using Lawn Fawn's Lobster ink.

After I had the sentiments stamped on the spinner portion, I was ready to put it all together. These spinner cards are super easy to assemble. Once my spinner was assembled, all that was left was to add the leaves to it. I die cut many leaves from white cardstock using the Reveal Wheel Fall Leaf Add-On die set. I inked them using the same colors of Distress Ink that I used for my background panel. For each leaf I wanted a little bit of shading, so I inked the edges of the leaves with a Distress Ink that was just a bit darker than the color I used. For the Carved Pumpkin leaves I shaded with Ripe Persimmon. For Fossilized Amber I used Rusty Hinge. Aged Mahogany was used on the Fired Brick leaves. Lastly, I used Forest Moss for the Peeled Paint leaves. I am completely in love with the way these leaves turned out! I think they are gorgeous! I just scattered them on the panel making sure to turn them all different ways so they looked as though they were falling. 

Lastly, I just put all my elements together. I adhered the background panel to a top folding white A2 card. Then, using foam adhesive, I attached the spinner panel to the center of the card. And the very last step was to add the small kraft die cut arrow beside the spinner. Now the card is finished! 

This card came together pretty quickly. I really love the gorgeous, rich fall colors! I really hope that you like it too! I am so thankful that you stopped by today to visit. Double Slider Mermaid Card

Hey y'all! It's been a while, and I am so sorry for that! Things have been super busy here in our house. My oldest daughter started school this year. And let me tell you.....I am one tired mama! I forgot what the beginning of the school year feels like. We have been running around like crazy. I haven't really had the opportunity to get in the craft room like I've wanted. But I reckon there will be times like that, right? 

I've had so many ideas swirling around in my head, and I'm finally glad to get to share one! My niece's birthday party is today, so I created this mermaid double slider surprise card for her. She loves mermaids, so I knew that the Mermaid For You stamp set from Lawn Fawn was the perfect choice to pair with the Double Slider Surprise dies. I've been dying to use this die set since I got it. 

I knew that I wanted an underwater ocean scene on the front of the slider pocket as well as the inserts that pulled out; but I wasn't sure what I wanted the actual card base to look like. So, I just started with the slider portion. I die cut all of those pieces from white cardstock, cutting one extra of the pocket piece and the insert. This slider pocket was actually really easy to put together after I watched the video on the Lawn Fawn YouTube channel. If you're interested, you can find that video here. There are many wonderful tips, tricks, and ideas in it! I inked up one of the front pocket pieces and 2 of the insert pieces using Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink. Then I inked up the other pocket piece and extra insert piece using Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink. I sprayed all the pieces with a distress sprayer and blotted them dry with a paper towel, then set them aside to dry. 

Next, I stamped, colored, and die cut the images to make my scene. I used a few of the ocean/water themed stamp sets from Lawn Fawn: Fintastic Friends, You Are Sublime, and Mermaid For You. I also used the coordinating dies for each of those sets. I wanted to have a pretty full scene, so I stamped LOTS of things from those stamp sets; sometimes stamping multiples of images I thought I might use more than one of. I stamped them with my favorite Copic friendly ink-Lawn Fawn Jet Black. Then I colored them using the following Copic markers:

Mermaids: E21, E53, B37, B39, E25, E27, RV02, RV04, BG10, BG13, V15, V17, R20, R24, B000, B00, Y11, Y17

Mermaid Crown: YR12, YR15

Eel: BG02, BG05, BG07, YG21, YG25

Fishes: V15, V17, Y19, YR16, YR18, V01, V04, YG21, YG25, RV52, RV55, YR12, YR15

Lobster and Hermit Crab: R24, R29, W0, W2

Underwater Plants/Seaweeds: Y13, Y15, YG21, YG25, RV13, RV14, BG02, BG05, G03, G14

Rocks and Seashells: YR02, YR04, R00, R20, BG02, BG05

Next, I cut the ocean floor from the brown inked pieces that I had using the Stitched Hillside Borders dies. I adhered them to the bottom of the ocean pieces I had inked. I stamped the sentiment in the top corner of the front of the pocket panel. I used sentiments from the Happy, Happy, Happy set and the Happy, Happy, Happy Add-On: Family set. I stamped this in Versafine Onyx Black ink. Then I adhered all of my underwater elements onto the pieces. Then it was time to assemble the slider. I used the video as a guide and put it together according to those directions. After it was assembled, I die cut 2 pull tabs with one of the dies that came in the Double Slider Surprise set. I stamped the "Pull Here" from the Push Here stamp set (also from Lawn Fawn) using Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink. Once they were dry, I attached them my inserts. 

Now, it was time to work on the card base. If I'm being completely honest, I had a very hard time figuring this part of the card out. I just wasn't sure what type of background I wanted. But once I saw the bubbles from the You Are Sublime stamp set, I knew they would be perfect. I cut a panel to 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" and prepped it with an anti-static powder bag. I stamped the bubbles all over it using Versamark ink. Then I added some white embossing powder to the bubbles and heat set it. Then I inked over the whole panel using Blueprint Sketch and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks. Then I used a paper towel to get the inks off of the embossing. 

Once I had done that, I adhered that panel to a white side folding A2 card base. Then I attached my slider to the card using some foam tape. And, that was it. My card was finished. I am absolutely in love with the Double Slider Surprise dies! There are tons of ways to decorate them. They could be used for just about any occasion you could think of.

My Favorite Place

Hey everyone! Happy Sunday! I hope that everyone has had a great weekend. We are all still enjoying every minute of these last few lazy summer days. Summer is one of God's sweetest blessings! Today I have a card to share with you that I created for the latest Lawnfawnatics Challenge. It's all about your favorite places. So...I created a pizza place on my card. 😊 Anyone who knows me would agree that the pizza place is one of my favorite places. I'm a huge pizza lover! I'd eat it everyday if I could. The first thing I wanted to do for this card was to get all of the pieces inked and together. I started with a piece of white cardstock cut to 4 1/4" by 5 1/2". I inked it with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink to make it look like the walls of a pizza place. For the window, I die cut a frame from white cardstock using the second smallest frame from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames dies. For the window frame, I inked it using Walnut Stain Distress Ink. The window pane was inked up using Tumbled Glass Distress ink. 

Next I worked on the tablecloth. I wanted that "classic" pizza place look, so I used the Gingham Backdrops Stamps from Lawn Fawn. I stamped it twice onto a piece of white cardstock that was sized to fit across the front of the card.  I used the MISTI tool to help me get it lined up and get that nice crisp stamped image. It was inked using Lawn Fawn's Lobster ink. After I had stamped it, I cut it out and used a corner rounder to round the top of the table. I attached the tablecloth to the bottom of the inked panel. 

Now it was time to work on the pizza parts of the card. I used Lawn Fawn's Quinn's Capital ABC's dies to cut out the word "PIZZA" for the window. I die cut them from some white cardstock. Once they were all cut, I flipped them over and colored the back side of them with an R27 Copic marker. I glued them onto the window pane, making sure to keep them backwards so that it would look like they were on the outside of the window. Next, I cut a piece of acetate to fit the frame to give the window that "glassy" look. Then, I adhered the whole window to the card in the upper right corner. 

Next, I worked on the pizza boxes. I stamped them using Lawn Fawn's Pizza My Heart stamp set. I really LOVE this set! I stamped 3 pizza boxes and the pizza cutter onto white cardstock using Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. I colored them using the following Copic markers:

Box: E53, E55, R24, and R27

Pizza Cutter: R24, R27, C2, and C4

Once they were colored, I fussy cut them and adhered them onto the table. 

To finish up the front of the card, I stamped a sentiment from the same set using the same black ink. I used the MISTI tool to help me get precise placement and stamped it multiple times to get the nice dark, crisp stamped image. I also added a small heart from the set underneath the sentiment. I colored it using the R27 Copic marker. Once that was all finished, I adhered the panel to a white side-folding A2 card base.

I also stamped a sentiment on the inside of the card. I used the same black ink for this. I also wanted to add a slice of pizza, so I stamped it onto a separate piece of white cardstock using the Jet Black ink and colored it with Copic markers. I used E53, E57, YR30, and YR31. Then I stamped the pepperoni and olive multiple times onto the slice. I stamped the pepperoni with the Lobster ink and the olive with the Jet Black ink. I fussy cut it and adhered it next to my sentiment. And that completely finished my card.

Die Cut Thank You Card

Hey y'all! Happy Tuesday! I'm back today to share a card that I made that is almost a completely die cut card. I love the Lawn Fawn summer release! It is all so completely adorable! I used one of their awesome die cut sets for the focal point of this card. 

To make the background of this yummy card, I cut a panel of white cardstock to 4 1/4" by 5 1/2". I used the Simon Says Stamp Reverse Polka Background and stamped it with Lawn Fawn Ballet Slippers ink. I used a MISTI tool so that I could stamp it multiple times if I needed too. This background stamp is one of my favorite stamps of all time! It is gorgeous!! I set that panel aside and started working on the rest of the card.

I die cut all of my pieces from white cardstock and inked them all up using various colors of Distress Inks. For my sentiment, I die cut it with the Lawn Fawn Scripty Thanks Die and inked it with Mermaid Lagoon. The ice cream cone was cut using Lawn Fawn's I Scream, You Scream Dies. These dies are soooo cute! I inked both pieces of the cone using Brushed Corduroy; I just inked the bottom piece a little more to make it look more shaded. I cut the ice cream scoop twice. One of the scoops I sent through my die cut machine again using the wavy line die that makes the topping or the syrup on the scoop. I inked the whole scoop very lightly with Tattered Rose Distress Ink. The topping was inked with Picked Raspberry. The cherry on top was inked with Candied Apple and Lucky Clover. After I let my pieces dry for a few minutes, I then glued them together. I foam mounted them onto a scallop rectangle that I had die cut using Lawn Fawn's Outside In Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Stackables Dies. 

After that, I began to assemble my card. I used a white top-folding A2 card base. I adhered my background panel directly onto my card base. Then I adhered the die cut, foam mounted ice cream cone rectangle piece onto the upper center of the card. Lastly, I adhered my scripty thanks die cut to the bottom center of the card. And that was it, my card was complete. I love this simple, sweet, adorable card. It was quick and easy to make. The die cut sentiment could also be substituted for a number of other die cut greetings, depending upon what occasion you are celebrating.

Thank You Circles Stamped Background

Good Monday morning friends! I hope that you all had the best weekend possible! I have a new card to share with y'all today. I created this one for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge. To find out more information about the challenge and see all the other lovely creations, click here. This week's challenge was all about making your own background. This is one thing that I've been trying to do more and more lately. As I was looking through my stamp sets, the Simon Says Stamp Circle Sayings just jumped out at me. I love this set, but I had honestly never used it before. I thought to myself, "There's no time like the present." I got it out and set to work. 😊

The first thing that I did was cut some white cardstock to fit an A2 card base (4 1/4" by 5 1/2").  I chose a few of the stamps from the set to use and mounted them each onto an acrylic block. I also chose some of my favorite inks to use. The colors I picked were Lawn Fawn's Merman and Plastic Flamingo and Simon Says Stamp's Deep Purple and Jellybean. I alternated the colors, making a pattern as I stamped. I kept the Deep Purple and Jellybean circles with each other and the Merman and Plastic Flamingo circles with each other. I tried to keep the spacing as uniform as possible when stamping. Each set of circles has the thank you sentiment outer circle, then the dotted circle next, and in the middle is the solid heart image. After I had filled the panel with the circles, I stamped a small thanks sentiment from the same stamp set in the white spaces of the card using Lawn Fawn's Jet Black ink. As the finishing touch for the background panel, I ran it through my die cutting machine with the largest rectangle from Lawn Fawn's Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables Dies. I think that stitching detail makes it look complete. I also cut the word "Thanks" out of black cardstock using Quinn's Capital ABC's dies (also from Lawn Fawn). I adhered them to the bottom of the card panel using some foam tape to give them a bit of dimension. I then adhered the whole panel onto a white side folding A2 card base, and that completed my card.

Flamingo Birthday Card

Happy Saturday friends! I've got a fun new card to share with you that I created. My aunt's birthday is coming up and I wanted to make her a fun summery card. And Lawn Fawn's flamingos were the perfect thing for that! 

I started this card by first making the main scene. I stamped the flamingos from Flamingo Together stamp set. I used Lawn Fawn's Jet Black ink (since it's Copic marker friendly). Then I colored them using the following colors: RV13, RV14, YR04, and YR09. They were super fast and easy images to color.  Next I stamped the palm trees from the same set. I used Lawn Fawn Walnut ink and Simon Says Stamp Jelly Bean ink. Then I cut all the images out with the coordinating dies. 

I knew that I wanted to have a beach scene, so I cut out a circle from white cardstock using the next to largest stitched circle die in the Large Stitched Circle Stackables die set. I then die cut this white cardstock circle several times. First, I wanted to make the sand; so I used a die from the Stitched Hillside Border dies to cut the bottom portion of the circle. Next, was going to be the waves. I cut a little more of the circle from the bottom portion using the Ocean Waves Border dies. Next, I needed to cut a sun in the sky. To do this, I arranged the smallest circle from the Large Stitched Circle Stackables die set on the bottom of the portion of the circle that was left. I didn't want it to cut a complete circle, but rather just half to look as though it was the sun setting on the horizon; so I left the die hanging off the paper some when I ran it through my die cutting machine. 

Now that I had all of my background pieces for my scene, I went ahead and inked them up using Distress Inks. For the sky I used Tumbled Glass. The sun was inked with Spiced Marmalade. Salty Ocean was the perfect color for the waves. And lastly I used a combination of Tea Dye and Brushed Corduroy for the sandy beach. To assemble the beach scene, I cut out a circle from black cardstock using the largest circle in the Small Stitched Circle Stackables set. I adhered all of the inked pieces back together onto that black circle. Then I layered the flamingos and palm trees onto it as well. 

For the background panel I wanted something kind of whimsical to match the fun scene. I love polka dots and thought that would be the perfect thing for the background. I looked through the stamps that I have, and saw the corner image in the Let's Bokeh stamp set. I love that stamp set so much! I stamped it all over a piece of white cardstock cut to 4 1/4" by 5 1/2", rotating the block as I stamped. I used the perfect shade of pink ink too--Plastic Flamingo from Lawn Fawn (was there any other choice? 😉). After I had the background stamped, I ran it through my die cut machine again using the largest rectangle from the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables set to get that great stitching detail around the card. I attached the circle scene to the top center of the panel. Next, I found a birthday sentiment that worked well with my scene to stamp on the bottom of the panel. I used the Happy Birthday from Happy, Happy, Happy stamp set. I stamped the sentiment using the MISTI so I could stamp it multiple times. I really wanted a dark, crisp stamped sentiment. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink for this. To finish up my card, I adhered the completed panel to a white side-folding A2 card base.

Fairy Friends Christmas Card

Hey guys! Happy Wednesday! I've got another card creation to share with you today. I'm trying to get an early start on my Christmas cards this year. Hopefully I will actually get more than 2 given out this year. I've decided this will be the year that my procrastination doesn't get the best of me. 😉

I really just can't get enough of these adorable gnomes and fairies from Lawn Fawn! I absolutely love them! For my box, I used Lawn Fawn's Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up die. I used Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock for this card. I decided to use this heavy cardstock because I knew that I was going to be inking both sides of it heavily and also heat embossing. To start, I cut the cardstock in half just to make it easier for me to work with. I used the Frosty Fairy Friends stamp set to create the outside of the box. I used the 4 snowflakes included in that set to get my snowy "background". I just arranged them onto an acrylic block so I could stamp it many times, this method was quicker than using the MISTI. I made sure that I used my anti-static powder bag on the surface of the cardstock. Next, I stamped the snowflakes using Versamark ink. It is a clear ink that's very sticky, perfect for heat embossing with. After I had stamped the image, I covered it with white embossing powder from Ranger. I didn't immediately heat-set it, as I wanted to stamp the image several times before I did that. I repeated the process several times until I got my card stock almost covered with snowflakes. It wasn't necessary for me to cover the whole entire panel since I was going to die cut the pop-up card base from it. After all the snowflakes had been heat set, it was time to ink it up. I used Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink. I inked both sides of  the cardstock. I let it sit for a few minutes, then I used a paper towel to clean off any of the ink that was on the embossing. This just made the embossing "pop" against the blue background. I sprayed the other side with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted it dry. I did this for both pieces of the Neenah cardstock. I am absolutely in love with this vibrant color!

After everything was dry, I die cut the base panel of the box from both of my ink blended backgrounds. I folded the box along the score lines and made sure to crease them well with my bone folder. I then cut 6 of the inside tab pieces from some white cardstock. I folded and creased along the score lines of 3 of those pieces for the inside of the box. I adhered the two box pieces together, leaving one side open. Then I adhered the 3 tab pieces to the inside of the box and completely closed it at this point. The remaining 3 tabs are what I cut the snowy ground from. To do this, I used Lawn Fawn's Puffy Cloud Border dies. Then I cut off the folding part from them and adhered them onto the white panels inside the box card. 

Now I was ready to work on my scene. I have been enjoying coloring so much lately. I am by no means an expert. Not even close. But I do so enjoy it. There's just something about coloring with a marker that has always made my heart happy. I started by stamping my images. I used the gnome from Lawn Fawn's Gnome Sweet Gnome. I used the toboggan and earmuffs from the Making Frosty Friends set. The rest of the images (fairies, snow-covered mushrooms, gift, and fairy house) all came from the Frosty Fairy Friends set. I stamped them with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink since I would be using Copic markers to color them. The only image that I didn't stamp with the Jet Black was the mirror gnome. I couldn't get a solid stamped image with it. I feel like it was because I was stamping it onto a mirror block and then stamping that onto the paper. I ended up using the Versafine Onyx Black ink for that one single image. It is not Copic friendly so I had to be super careful when coloring that image. 

I colored the images in colors that made me think of my family. The gnomes in colors that my husband and son like and fairies in colors that me and my girls like. Below you will find a list of the Copic colors that I used.

After I had colored the images, I cut them out using the coordinating dies. I also used the stitched rectangle die from the pop-up card die set to stamp the sentiment on. It also came from the Frosty Fairy Friends set. I stamped it with the same ink that I blended on the box. Now I just arranged everything to get it in just the right place. I adhered the house with foam tape to the back of the box itself. Every other image was put onto the snowy tabs inside the box. I put the earmuffs onto one of the gnomes. For the other gnome, I cut a tiny bit off his hat and adhered the toboggan on top of it. I wanted them to be ready for the snow. I put them onto the back tab, one on each side. On the middle tab, I attached two snow-covered mushrooms one on each side, and what I called the "mom" fairy. I put her onto a small strip of acetate that I had left over from making some shaker cards. I wanted her to look like she was flying. Onto the front tab, I attached the other two fairies and 3 more mushrooms. I also put a gift in each of the fairies' hands. I placed the stitched box with the sentiment onto the front flap of the box. Now, the card was complete.

Fairy Garden Fun Fold Card

Hey y'all! Happy Monday! I hope that you all had a great weekend. I'm back today to share a card with you that I created for the Lawn Fawnatics Fun Fold Challenge. (Click here to see the challenge announcement and the other entries for it. They are great!)

I knew as soon as I saw this challenge what I wanted to do. I knew that I wanted a tall card that had panels that opened to reveal a full scene, but also had a scene when it was closed. I played around with a couple of different things and finally settled on this version, which I really love. 

To start the card, I took an 8.5" by 11" piece of white cardstock and trimmed off half an inch from the 11 inch side. The resulting measurements were now 8.5" by 10.5". I scored it at the 3.5 and 7 inch mark on the long side. I folded it to make a kind of "z" fold. Next, I determined how tall I wanted my front and middle portions to be. After some trial and error, I ended up with the front panel measuring 4 3/8" tall and the middle panel was 6 1/4" tall. To get them the right size, I just measured up the side of the panels and used a ruler and an Xacto knife to cut a straight line horizontally to the next panel. Then I just used my scissors to trim down the fold to my cut line. When the card was laid flat open, it kind of looked like stair-steps. 

Next, I started inking my sky and grass panels. I cut 5 pieces of white cardstock to 3.5" by 8.5". I used my card base as a guide when trying to see how much of the green grass I needed on each panel. Using Mowed Lawn Distress Ink, I inked each of them. After they had been inked, I sprayed them with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted them dry with a paper towel. Next, I ran each panel through my die cut machine using Lawn Fawn's Grassy Border die, making sure that each one was just a little taller than the panel it would be covering; with the exception of the last panel for the inside of the card. I made sure it was taller than the second panel, but short enough to leave space for the sky. I should also mention that I cut 2 for the front portion of the card and 2 for the middle portion of the card, so I made sure that each of those were the same size respectively. After die cutting the grass into the tops, I inked up the back side with the same green ink so that there wouldn't be any white grass showing on the backs of the panels. Then I inked my sky. I used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink on the top of the back panel of my card base. I also sprayed it with a Distress Sprayer.

Next, I stamped all my images. I actually stamped way more than I needed. But I wanted to make sure that I had plenty to use. I really wanted a full card. And these images are so cute, you can never really have too many. I used quite a few stamp sets from Lawn Fawn: Elphie Selfie, Year Two, To A Fungi, Little Fireflies, Gnome Sweet Gnome, and Fairy Friends. These sets are some of my very favorites. I stamped them with the MISTI using Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. This is my favorite black ink to use. It's a nice, crisp black ink that's Copic Marker friendly. 

After I had stamped all those adorable images, I was ready to get coloring. I used the following Copic Markers:

Flowers: G03, G14, RV10, RV13, V01, V04, BG11, BG13, Y13, Y15, E55, and E57

Mushrooms: V01, V04, BG11, BG13, YG21, YG25, RV55, E53, E55, B34, B37, B39, W7, RV00, RV02, FB2, B63, B66, and YR04

Mushroom Houses: R24, R29, E53, E55, YR30, YR31, E79, B000, 0, B63, B66, YR02, YR04, and E57

Birds: B000, and B00

Bees: Y15, Y17, W4, W7, BG10, and 0

Turtles: G21, G24, and W2

Mouse: E55 and E57

Fireflies: E11, E13, Y17, BG10, and 0

Fairies: RV11, RV13, V01, V04, YG21, YG25, E00, E21, YR31, Y17, E55, E27, BG10, 0, and E57

Fairy House: RV00, RV02, B63, B66, C4, C5, G03, G14, B000, and 0

Gnome: W2, W4, YR15, YR16, W8, B99, E00 and E21

After I had colored all the images, I die cut them if I had the coordinating set or fussy cut them if I didn't. I used the Elphie Selfie dies, Year Two dies, Little Fireflies dies, Gnome Sweet Gnome dies, and Fairy Friends dies. 

Next, I adhered my grassy panels to the corresponding portion on the card base. Once I had them in place, I arranged my die cut images all over my card base until I had the perfect placement for each. Once I had them all arranged, I glued them in place. 

Lastly, I stamped my sentiments on the first and last panels. I used sentiments from the Year Two and Fairy Friends stamp sets using Versafine Onyx Black ink. Now my card was completed. I really enjoyed making this fun card! I really can't ever have too many fairy cards. They make my heart so happy!

Ahoy, Matey!

Hey friends! Happy Wednesday! I can not believe how close it is to August already! This summer has just flown by. I'm trying my best to savor these last weeks of summer. I'm one of those moms who enjoys the kids being out of school, and I'm just not quite ready for it to be over yet. So, today I thought I'd share with y'all a nice summer-y card. 

I created this card for a special young man's 4th birthday. I wanted to make something fun and playful for him and thought this stamp and die set would be perfect. To start my card I made the background panel first. I started by inking some white cardstock with Brushed Corduroy distress ink to use for the sandy beach. Then I inked more white cardstock for the sky and ocean waves. For the ocean, I used Salty Ocean distress ink and the sky was inked using Tumbled Glass distress ink. After all pieces were inked, I sprayed them with a Distress sprayer and blotted them dry with a paper towel. 

I cut two pieces to use as the ocean waves using Lawn Fawn's Ocean Wave Border Dies. After I had die cut them, I added a bit of Blueprint Sketch distress ink to the tops of the waves, Then I cut the sand using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Hillside Border Dies. Once all of my background pieces were cut, I adhered them to a side folding white A2 card base. 

Next, I was ready to stamp. I used the Ahoy, Matey stamps from Lawn Fawn. I stamped the little pirates, a ship, a couple of trees, parrot, and treasure chest using Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. I made sure to use an ink that was suitable for Copic markers. After all images were stamped, I colored them using the marker combinations that follow. For the boots of the pirates I used W7 and W8. The pirate girl's hat and dress I used R29, R27, C1, B41, and B45. For her hair I used E55 and E57. The skintones I used on both pirates were E00 and E11. For the little boy pirate's clothes I used R27, R29, W4, W7, W0, B41, and B45. For his peg leg I used E79 and E57. I colored his hair using  E55 and E53. For the treasure chest I used E25, E27, R27, R29, Y15, and Y19. The parrot was colored in shades of green using YG21, YG25, and YR16 for it's beak. On the pirate ship I used E25, E27,W7, W8, R37, and R39. Lastly I used E57, E79, E55, G03, and G07 for the trees. After all the images were colored, I die cut them with the coordinating dies and arranged them on the front of my card. To complete the card, I stamped the "Ahoy, Matey" sentiment at the top right of the card.

Hey everybody! Happy Friday! I'm back today to share a card with you that I created for the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 32. I absolutely adore ALL things Lawn Fawn. If I could, I would own at least one of everything they have ever created. These colors for this challenge are some of my favorite and were the basis for my card today. 

To start, I cut some white cardstock to 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" and inked the whole entire panel with Twisted Citron distress ink. Next, I picked some colors from my paper collection that matched the colors of the inspiration board. I die cut each color using the Scripty Aloha die several times. I also cut one aloha from black cardstock. I arranged the words in different orientations on my panel and adhered them down. Some of the words were hanging off the panel, which was what I wanted. After the glue had dried, I just trimmed the excess off. I wanted this to look kind of like a piece of larger paper that had been trimmed down. 

Next, I stamped the pineapple and sunglasses onto a piece of white cardstock using Copic friendly ink. My go-to favorite is the Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. I also stamped one of the faces onto the pineapple. These images all came from the Aloha stamp set. I colored the pineapple with my Copics using Y17, Y19, and E35. I colored the crown with G03 and G07. After I colored, I cut the images out with the coordinating dies from the Aloha die set. Then, I glued the glasses on top of the stamped eyes so that only the smile from the stamp was visible. I also cut out a stitched circle from the Large Stitched Circle Stackables set from black cardstock. (I used the second smallest circle in the set.) I adhered one of the lighter blue word dies on top of the black word die cut to give it a little bit of shadow. I adhered the pineapple to the top of the circle and added the die cut blue/black aloha word to the bottom of the circle. I then foam mounted that to the center of my background panel. To finish the card, I attached the panel to a white side-fold A2 card base.

Fab Flowers Card

Hey y'all! Thanks so much for stopping in for a visit today! I'm so thankful you are here! Today I have a new card to share featuring the Fab Flowers stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn. I am such a huge fan of all things Lawn Fawn. Everything that they have is so completely adorable! These floral stamps are no exception. Gorgeous!

To get my card started I cut a panel of black cardstock to 4 1/4" by 5 1/2". I adhered it to a side folding A2 card base. Next, I used the Bold Stripes Cover-Up die from My Favorite Things and cut it out using white cardstock. I layered it in the middle of my black cardstock panel. I love the classic look of black and white together!

After the base panel was completed, I stamped the solid (bottom) layer of the flowers on some white cardstock. I used several different ink colors for this: Frosty Pink (from Altenew), Salty Ocean, Shaded Lilac, Worn Lipstick, Scattered Straw, and Dried Marigold Distress Inks. I used my Misti Tool to stamp the images so that I could double stamp them if I needed too. After the bottom layers were all stamped, I put the top detail layers into my Misti and stamped those on top of their coordinating flower. These images are very easy to line up and when working with the Misti, you can do many images at once. For the top layers I used several more different ink colors: Ruby Red (from Altenew), Blueprint Sketch, Wilted Violet, Candied Apple, Wild Honey, and Carved Pumpkin Distress Inks. I also double stamped these when I needed too. For the leaves, I only stamped the most solid bottom layer using Parrot ink from Altenew. I stamped three of these for the card I made today. 

When all the images had been stamped, I used the coordinating Fab Flowers dies to cut them out. Using the dies make cutting a breeze! 

After all my flowers and leaves had been die cut, I just arranged them on my card front layering them together until I got a nice grouping. Those flowers really pop on that classic looking background panel. 

I just love the little butterfly that's included in the stamp set and felt like it would be the perfect finishing touch for my card. I stamped it using  Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet Distress Inks. For the body, I used the Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. That is my favorite black dye ink to use. It is very bold and crisp. After the butterfly had been stamped, I cut it out using the coordinating die and I layered it on top of my floral cluster. And with that, my card was complete. 

This card would be great for many occasions-Mother's Day, thank you, birthday, get well,or just an I'm thinking of you card.

Winter Themed Card

Hey y'all! Thanks for stopping by today! I hope that you are having a great start to your week. Today, I'm going to share a winter card I made using an adorable Lawn Fawn stamp & die set.

I absolutely love these cute snowmen!!

To start the card I cut a piece of white cardstock to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". After I had cut it to size, I ran it through my die cut machine using the largest die from the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables. I wanted to have that stitching detail around the edge of my cardstock. (You could just run your paper through your die cut machine without cutting it to size first and the die will cut it to perfectly fit an A2 sized card and add the stitching all at the same time. I was making multiples of this card and I wanted to get as many pieces from one piece of cardstock as possible.)

After I had the stitching detail on my cardstock, I needed to make it a frame. I used the third from the largest die in the Memory Box Rectangle Basics die set to cut the middle out of the piece. After I made this cut, here is what I was left with:

I saved the middle to use to stamp my images. The images I used were from the Lawn Fawn Making Frosty Friends stamp set. I stamped both snowmen, hat, scarf, and one of the little birds. I stamped two each of the hat and scarf. After all images were stamped, I added the buttons to both snowmen as well.

Next I used my Copic markers to color each image. I am by no means an expert.  I would actually consider myself a Copic beginner. I'm not even sure that I actually do my shading properly. I just do what comes to me. 😉 I do enjoy coloring, always have. Especially with markers. There's just something about a marker-colored picture to me that is quite special. After all the images were colored, here's some of what I ended up with:

To color the hats I used W7, W8, and W10. I also used W7 for the buttons on each of the snowmen. For the carrot noses and the bird's beak, I used YR04 and YR07. I colored most of the images with shades of blues. (To me, blue is just a standard winter color.) For the bird I used R24 and R29 for it's scarf and it's body was colored using B91 and B93. I did a darker and lighter blue for the stripe on the hat and scarf. The darker shade of blue was colored with B34 and B37. The lighter blue shade is BG02 and BG05.

After I had colored all of the images, I cut them out using the coordinating dies.

Once all my images had been die cut, I needed a snowy hill for them to rest on. I cut another piece of white cardstock to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I ran it through my die cut machine with a circle die. I taped it to the bottom of the panel, which gave me a half circle type of shape that I needed to represent my snowy bank.

I apologize that these pictures aren't the greatest quality, I gave it my best shot. Hopefully with the passage of time, they will get better. And, pardon my Wonder Woman shirt. I've been a big fan since I was a little girl!

Anyway, after I had my snowy hill it was time to get the background. I cut a dark blue piece of cardstock to the same size as my card, 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  I wanted a little sparkle on it, so I sprayed it with Tsukineko Shimmer Spritz. It turned out so pretty and sparkly! You can't really see how much shimmer it actually has in the picture, but it is very shimmery!

Once it was dry, which happened very quickly I must add, I used my Stampin' Up Embossing Buddy to get the cardstock ready for the embossing powder.

Once prepped for embossing, I used my MISTI to stamp my sentiment (from the same stamp set). I double stamped it with Versamark ink. I double stamped it because the cardstock had a little bit of texture to it and I wanted to make sure that I had gotten a good impression. I embossed it using Ranger white embossing powder and heat set it with my heat tool.

Now that all of my pieces were finished, I just needed to put it together. I added my snowy hill first. Next I added the white frame.

Lastly, I added my cute little snowmen. And....my card project was completed.
